Porsche and toymaker Ravensburger are releasing a 3D puzzle version of the 911 GT3 Cup Salzburg in miniature.


3D puzzles are made using a proprietary process that involves injection molding the pieces, marking the inner side with ID numbers, and printing a design on the outer side. Piece movement is kept to a minimum, especially when curved and bendable puzzle pieces are involved. The surface is precisely printed to prevent color from seeping into the edges of the puzzle pieces.

As with a real model, two prototypes were needed before starting production. “Recreating the iconic shape of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Salzburg as accurately and in detail as possible was a challenge,” says Martin Fischer, development engineer at Ravensburger. “That and dividing the puzzle segments were the most technically complex steps. »

The end result, the 911 GT3 Cup Salzburg 3D puzzle offers all fans of sports cars and puzzles, from the age of 10, the opportunity to experience the fascination of Porsche in a whole new way. The cutting quality of the parts ensures perfect stability, all without glue. The complementary accessories ensure the finality of the construction.
